Presentation
MXL: A three part presentation - Features, Benefits and Clinical Trials
The following slide show was presented at last year’s "Map thru the Maze", an annual meeting for caregivers and professionals held by the Massachusetts Alzheimer's Association. These are the clinical findings, and the science behind them, which led to our product, MXL. The amazing clinical results presented within these slides show what MXL has done for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, as well as people without dementia.

Background
The Puzzle of Alzheimer's ... The Solution to the Puzzle
MXL Protects against genetic risk factors & Poor Nutrition
What is the most difficult hurdle faced in developing a treatment for Alzheimer's Disease?
Big Science: The classical "Hallmarks" of Alzheimer's disease
Current studies suggest that Alzheimer's Disease my be a disorder of Oxidative Stress
Some Details of a neuron...
If we treat with vitamin E...
It's not quite as simple as it may seem...
Let’s examine the combined impact of several Alzheimer risk factors
"Transgenic mice" lacking ApoE: made via recombinant DNA and stem cells
Another risk factor for Alzheimer's disease is nutritional deficiency.
Folate deficiency promotes oxidative damage to brain tissue in ApoE-/- mice
Part 2Dietary approach to reduce neuropathology
What’s in MXL?
MXL fights many AD risk factors
MXL constituents reduce other genetic risk factors
beta (plaques) tau(tangles)
Current pharmacological approach for Alzheimer's disease
Memory assessment ...the Y-maze test
Aggression assessment ...the intruder test
MXL reversibly prevents Aggression & maintains Cognitive Performance in ApoE4 mice
MXL Reversibly Improves Cognition in Normal Mice
Why a pill? Why not eat right?
The Secret of SAM-e, or as some refer to it, SAM
Look at how and where SAM-e is needed
SAM-e maintains acetylcholine levels
Look at how and where SAM-e is needed
The Science behind MXL
All this preclinical stuff lead us to Clinical Trials
Activities of Daily Living
Neuropsychiatric Inventory
Dementia Rating Scale
"Clock-Drawing Test"
Correlation of Tests...
Case Reports from clinical trials...
11 month extension.... Going strong!!!
MXL performs as well or better than pharma agents according to caregivers...
MXL performs as well or better than anti-inflammatory agents according to caregiver reports
Clock-Drawing Test: Comparison of MXL and Pharma
MXL would likely potentiate the effect of Aricept as AD advances
10 participants, nursing home residents, institutional caregivers
Trail-making test... aka "Trails"
MXL improves Cognitive performance in Adults without Dementia
Another round of MXL tests...
